Assignment: As needed when students are on campus, 20 hours/week; no benefits
Wednesdays and Fridays - 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays - 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Position Outcomes :
To provide support for the art department faculty in achieving effective education as well as maintaining a smooth and well organized working environment for teachers and students.

General Responsibilities :
This work involves tasks related to the maintenance of the darkroom, art storage areas and art classrooms. There is considerable contact with staff and students and some contact with parents and the general public. This employee must possess organizational skills, exercise initiative and independent judgment, and keep informed of procedures and requirements.

Qualifications :
  • Knowledge of photography and darkroom procedures and care, including experience in making chemical solutions for the darkroom.
  • Knowledge of safe methods of storing, using and disposing of chemicals.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to high school art photography laboratories.
  • Knowledge of current office practices and procedures, computers, and additional office equipment.
  • Ability to organize work flow and work with several individuals.
  • Ability to move around frequently in office area as well as other areas of the building.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate clearly and distinctly in person and over the telephone with staff, students and parents.
  • Position Expectations :
  • Assists the art faculty by:
  • maintaining organized art storage rooms and photography labs;
  • preparing chemicals for use in the darkroom;
  • setting up and breaking down photography lab on daily basis;
  • operating, maintaining and repairing darkroom equipment and other instructional equipment;
  • maintaining inventory of photography supplies/equipment;
  • maintaining and updating darkroom to chemical safety regulation standard.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and projects a positive image of the district to parents, students and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor .
