PURPOSE OF JOB: to coordinate and support advanced academics at a school level. The Postsecondary Programming Site Coordinator will identify students for placement in advanced academic courses, monitor student progress throughout the year, provide student interventions when needed, and facilitate advanced academic testing. The PP Site Coordinator will work closely with students, instructors, counselors, and principals to ensure accurate placement in advanced courses, raise awareness of the advanced programs offered at the school (programs can include AP, Dual Credit, Dual Enrollment, and IB), and monitor student progress.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages day to day involvement with advanced course programming
Serves as campus contact for district coordinator and partnering institutions
Attends required professional development and trainings
Provides weekly grade checks on all students participating in advanced courses
Uses interventions with struggling students to ensure student success
Demits failing students at midterm, quarter, and semester
Administers student self-assessments and teacher recommendation forms
Analyzes student self-assessments, teacher recommendations, GPA, attendance, prior successes in courses, test scores to make student recommendations for advanced courses
Completes, collects and submits student enrollment forms for advanced courses
Aids in the construction of test schedules and the distribution/collection of test materials
Manages materials related to advanced courses (books, resources, etc.)
Submits approved advanced placement recommendations to master scheduler
Identifies and reports instructors for summer trainings
Designs and participates in site-based events to raise awareness of advanced course offerings
Establishes and manages incentive programs at the school to celebrate student success in advanced academic courses
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:? None
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold or be eligible for Missouri teacher certification
Minimum of Three (3) years of teaching experience
Knowledge of the Missouri Learning Standards
Background experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Teaching experience in urban schools
Experience with curriculum and assessment development
Leadership experience
