Job Description
The successful candidate will:
1. Plan and implement the physical education & health curriculum for grades 9-12
2. Evaluate individual students using department-developed common assessment tools, maintain up-to-date records of student progress
3. Collaborate with members of the PreK-12 Physical Education & Health department to review, develop and execute a rigorous district curriculum aligned to state standards
4. Create a positive, inviting, and safe learning environment while modeling enthusiasm for learning
5. Develop, model, and practice class procedures and routines
6. Modify instructional practices to meet individual student needs
7. Communicate high expectations to all learners, as well as realistic and consistent expectations for student behavior and applies appropriate consequences

Job Requirements
DEGREE PREFERRED: •Bachelors or Master's degree EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: •1-2 years of experience working with high school age students ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: •Current Massachusetts Teacher Certification in Physical Education & Health/Family & Consumer Sciences • Knowledge of current best practices in physical education & health education •Understanding of scientifically based research and evidence-based practices for teaching students & knowledge of best practices for assessing student progress toward achievement of standard •Excellent communication skills •Current Certification in CPRCitizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
