The Brandywine program, located in Glenmoore, PA works with adolescent males who experience behavioral and psychiatric challenges and is currently seeking a Full-Time Special Education Teacher to provide educational services and instruction within emotional learning support classroom.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Prepares lesson plans to include content and instructional goals, incorporating student knowledge and abilities and delineating available resources.
  • Instructs students in academic areas by engaging students in learning, using a variety of presentation techniques, teaching relevant content, providing specific and timely feedback to students, and assessing progress.
  • Utilizes appropriate and approved therapeutic interaction skills with clients
  • Provides guidance and direction to support staff by sharing information, delegating responsibilities, providing feedback and training, and engaging staff in planning and scheduling tasks and activities.
  • Adheres to professional responsibilities relative to certification and organizational and center best practices.
  • Effectively communicates student progress to parents/guardians and home school district, responds to parental concerns engaging the family in the instructional process.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelors degree in Education. PA Department of Education Special Education Teaching certificate required.

    Experience: Experience with Emotional/Learning Support classroom strong preferred

    Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
