The Brandywine program, located in Glenmoore, PA works with adolescent males who experience behavioral and psychiatric challenges and is currently seeking a Full-Time Special Education Teacher to provide educational services and instruction within emotional learning support classroom.

Specific responsibilities include:

Prepares lesson plans to include content and instructional goals, incorporating student knowledge and abilities and delineating available resources.

Instructs students in academic areas by engaging students in learning, using a variety of presentation techniques, teaching relevant content, providing specific and timely feedback to students, and assessing progress.

Utilizes appropriate and approved therapeutic interaction skills with clients

Provides guidance and direction to support staff by sharing information, delegating responsibilities, providing feedback and training, and engaging staff in planning and scheduling tasks and activities.

Adheres to professional responsibilities relative to certification and organizational and center best practices.

Effectively communicates student progress to parents/guardians and home school district, responds to parental concerns engaging the family in the instructional process.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Education. PA Department of Education Special Education Teaching certificate required.

Experience: Experience with Emotional/Learning Support classroom strong preferred

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
