EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY

AN INVITATION TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION OF

SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS

DOVER-SHERBORN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, MASSACHUSETTS

The School Committees of Dover and Sherborn invite progressive, dynamic candidates to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools.

Dover and Sherborn are historic and picturesque residential towns located 20 miles west of Boston. The PK-12 public schools of Dover and Sherborn comprise three Massachusetts school districts and educate 2074 students in four schools: two town-based elementary schools, a regional middle school and an acclaimed regional high school.   The superintendent works with three school committees to ensure productive collaboration and to support one mission and joint strategic initiatives and goals. The committees, which consist of two who govern their respective town’s elementary school, and one that governs the regional middle and high schools, ensure a unified approach to the districts’ management and leadership. The total FY21 operating budget is $43.5 million, allocated as follows:  $10.4 million, $7 million and $26.1 million for Dover, Sherborn, and the Dover Sherborn Regional Schools respectively.

The public schools of Dover and Sherborn are a deliberate choice for a superintendent seeking an atmosphere of student-centered collaboration and creativity. S/he will join:

  • an engaged and dedicated faculty and staff;
  • students who seek a wide-range of authentic academic and creative challenges;
  • highly supportive and involved parents and residents;
  • a vibrant student body that increasingly includes diverse voices and perspectives reflecting our changing communities; and
  • communities that provide resources, expertise and generous, consistent funding.

The candidate interested in this position must have comprehensive leadership, management and educational experience and a license or eligibility for licensure as a superintendent of schools in Massachusetts. An earned doctorate is desired, but not required.  This position offers a regionally competitive salary and contract that recognizes exceptional credentials, accomplishments, and promise.
