Propel seeks passionate individuals committed to providing students with exceptional experiences to serve as Afterschool Tutors at all of our schools.

The AfterschoolTutor willhelp students in differentsubjects, aligned with Propel curriculum. Tutors will assess, assist and encourage the students in the learning processes. Tutors will also review materials used in scholar's classrooms, explain topics and collaborate with classroom educators to ensure student growth.

Tutorswill assist in:

• Developingscholar's skills
• Helpingstudents to improve their learning process
• Detectingspecific needs of each student
• Teachingsupplementary lessons
• Reaching Student Outcomes

Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.A. in Education or a related field or a combination of other trainings and education that qualify the candidate for the position
• Experience working in Propel Afterschool or Summer Camp
• Experience working at an afterschool program
• Experience as a teacher or paraprofessional in a school
• Experience working in programming for at-risk populations
• Belief in a culture of dignity for students and staff

Locations/Hours:

All Afterschool programs meet 8-12 hrs per week, Monday-Thursday at the following locations:

• Propel East
• Propel Hazelwood
• Propel Homestead
• Propel McKeesport
• Propel Montour Elementary School
• Propel Montour Middle/High School (one campus afterschool)
• Propel Northside
• Propel Pitcairn
