GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for providing support to department activities with the specific responsibility of processing, recording, updating and reconciling fiscal information in compliance with established policies; providing instructions, recommendations and/or accounting support to other personnel; and analyzing Student Information System (SIS) data in accordance with Department of Elementary & Secondary Education Core Data parameters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Analyze student information to identify potential count variances, compiling statistical information, developing procedures, and conforming to established core data practices and regulatory requirements.

Assist Director IV - Performance Analytics, SIS team, AAA team, new secretaries, etc. to provide support documentation and/or information on internal process required for audit.

Compile a wide variety of month end related reports for work assignments to provide required documentation and/or processing information.

Maintain a wide variety of student information, files and records to ensure the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.

Monitor core data fields and related department fields, policies and procedures implementation to ensure that student membership allocations are accurate, related attendance hours are calculated correctly, building input is within protocol and/or fiscal practices are followed.

Prepare a wide variety of written materials and electronic financial information to document activities, provide reference, convey information, and comply with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.

Process a wide variety of student information to update and distribute information, authorize action and/or comply with established core data practices.

Provide orientation and support to other departmental personnel regarding procedures and program requirements to ensure efficient processing in compliance within district policy and established regulatory guidelines.

Recommend policies, procedures and/or actions on issues that relate to data collection and monitoring to provide direction and/or decision-

Reconcile a wide variety of student data to maintain accurate account balances and ensure compliance with established accounting practices.

Research discrepancies of student information and/or documentation to ensure the accuracy and adhere to established procedures prior to certifying.

Respond to inquiries from a wide variety of sources to facilitate communication and/or provide guidance among several parties; as well as provide information and/or referral for addressing inquiry.

Perform other related duties as required/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferred.

Minimum of four (4) years of job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.

The work is light work, which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.

Must possess the physical ability to work primarily with fingers, perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, manual dexterity, mental acuity, repetitive motion, standing, visual acuity, and walking.
