QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED:
1. Experience, knowledge and background related to N.Y.S. learning standards and multiple assessments including formative and benchmark assessments in unit designs
2. Literacy teaching experience
3. Desire and knowledge to balance students' social/emotional and academic/intellectual needs.
4. Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills with
parents, staff and students
5. Desire and ability to work collaboratively with an academic team including an interdisciplinary approach to lesson design.
6. Strong knowledge of strategies in the areas of literacy and writing
7. Knowledge and evidence of unit planning and lesson design using Understanding by Design, differentiated instruction, curriculum mapping and multiple assessment
8. Uses varied instructional methods and assessments to support:
ü Engaged learning
ü Higher-order thinking skills
ü Meaningful, authentic use of knowledge
ü Integration of 21st century skills
ü Multiple Intelligences
9. Evidence of strong classroom management with an emphasis on student engagement and student success in the classroom.
10. Commitment to curriculum development, professional development, flexible teamwork, and instructional technology
11. Ability to integrate technology into the classroom
12. Willingness to be a coach or activity advisor
