Summary: The School Improvement Grant (SIG) project manager works in a Title I designated school improvement grant school. The project manager works with administrators, facilitators and teachers to implement the approved SIG plan for improvement over a five year period, beginning in 2016-2017 and ending school year 2020-2021. The project manager provides oversight and monitors the implementation of grant initiatives and related expenditures. The role of the SIG project manager contributes to increasing overall school performance by ensuring school leaders and teachers look at multiple measures and use these data to improve learning outcomes.

Essential Duties:

• Supports, monitors and evaluates the grant implementation and ensures alignment with grant requirements and grant timeline.
• Supports facilitation, planning, research, and problem solving and coordination for all SIG goals.
• Plans, implements and manages SIG project tasks in compliance with applicable federal and state fiscal requirement, including budget planning, spending, monitoring and reporting.

• Selects grant related materials, equipment and supplies for the school; maintains an inventory of items purchased through the grant.

• Assist school leaders and teachers with monitoring and assessing student performance.
• Reviews the results of multiple measures such as behavior, classroom observations, and school climate to assist with school-wide progress monitoring and adjustments to instruction.
• Coaches school leaders to modify and implement school reform strategies through participation in the school's Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) and School Leadership Team (SLT).
• Conducts classroom observations in order to appraise program and instructional effectiveness.
• Supports instruction through classroom visits, co-planning, co-teaching and follow-up support meetings with teachers.
• Develops various surveys and assessment tools; compiles and analyses program data and completes grant reporting requirements as specified.
• Provides support to school leaders and teachers to engage parents in the learning process.
• Provides high quality, ongoing, job-embedded, and differentiated professional development.
• Works with minimum supervision.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Minimum

• Master's Degree
• At least two years of administrative or lead/resource teacher experience and
• Three Years of successful teaching experience.
• Possession of or ability to obtain appropriate NC certification

Desirable

• Experience providing effective professional development

Licensing / Certification Requirements:

• Standard II Professional License in School Administration or Curriculum and Instruction

• Knowledge of the mission of the school/district, effective leadership and teaching strategies, and evidenced based practices.
• Knowledge of and ability to articulate and achieve alignment around the goals, objectives and outcomes.
• Knowledge of North Carolina - ESSA comprehensive support school requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the school and with Learning and Teaching Services, Organizational Development departments and Learning Community staff.
• Ability to work independently and to contribute as a school-based team leader.
• Ability to model, implement and monitor best instructional practices.
• Ability to value diversity.
• Ability to develop programs to meet the needs of culturally diverse populations.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft, Apple, Google and instructional software.
• Skilled in written and verbal communications.

Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations and repetitive motor coordination. The work rarely requires one to exert physical effort or to work with biohazards or risks. The work requires activities frequently involving driving automotive equipment.
