    JOB CLASSIFICATION DESCRIPTION

    JOB CLASSIFICATION TITLE:
    Computer Technician – Non-Public Schools

    DEPARTMENT:
    Children's Community School

    FUNDING SOURCE:
    Grants

    BARGAINING UNIT CLASSIFICATION:
    Non-Union

    REPORTS TO:
    Works under the supervision of the Title I Teacher and the Principal.

    FLSA DESIGNATION:
    10 month position, 19 hours per week. $12.00/hour. Note: This is a part time, non-union grant-funded position with no benefits that exists as long as grant funds are available.

    PART I - SUMMARY OF CLASSIFICATION

    This class is accountable for assisting eligible Title students in the Computer Lab for Reading/Math; Does related work as required.

    PART II - MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    General Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).


  • B. CREDENTIALS:

    C. LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Incumbents in this class may be required to possess a current CT Motor Vehicle Class D Operator License.

    D. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    E. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Basic technical knowledge and computer skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot for system malfunction.
  • Must be capable of maintaining inventory on hardware and software.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with administrators, teachers, students and parents.

    PART IV - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties.

  • Identify all eligible Title I students.
  • Complete all necessary forms for students.
  • Schedule eligible students for the computer lab.
  • Print out monthly student reports for Principal, Teachers and Parents.
  • Administer tests to lower grades.
  • Maintain the Computer Lab.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
