Job Details
Tasks may require the ability to exert physical effort to assist students with individual needs in classrooms. This position may require a combination of physical movements to assist students throughout the school campus such as but not limited to: stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting, toileting, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate to heavy weight.

One (1) year previous experience and/or training involving educational assistance, working with students/children, computerized student instruction, general office work, or work in area of assignment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
In addition, must have one of the following before reporting to work:
48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours; OR
An Associate's degree or higher; OR
Passing score on the PRAXIS for Parapro exam (456 is the passing score for Tennessee)
Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies.
Ability to work collaboratively with students who have a variety of learning disabilities.
Pay Grade Level 6, 197 days
Hourly rate:
$10.94 Associate?s Degree or passing score on the PRAXIS for Parapro Test
$11.65 Four-year degree
$11.89 Master?s degree any discipline
$12.13 Teacher certification
$12.36 Teacher certification AND Master?s Degree
