Great Oaks Legacy Charter School is a high-performing, innovative public charter school in Newark NJ, serving 1,900 students from Pre-K to 12th grade on campuses across the city. Speech Language Pathologist Role Description:

Great Oaks Legacy Charter School (GOLCS) is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide speech and language therapy for students at various Great Oaks Legacy Charter School locations.

As an integral member of the child study team, the GOLCS Speech Language Pathologist will:

• Develop students' oral communication skills to support their ability to access their educational program and further support their development as part of our college prep mission.
• Provide direct treatment to students with speech-language impairments.
• Develop and implement educationally-based IEP communication goals using a variety of service delivery models to support the classroom curriculum.
• Support and document student progress toward IEP goals and communicate with families of students on assigned caseload regarding student performance.
• Collaborate with the child study team members to implement and student treatment plans.
• Conduct speech and language screenings and formal assessments and share results/findings with the child study team and campus leadership.
• Collaborate with teachers, tutors, and child study team members to ensure that students meet the goals outlined in their IEPs;
• Provide individualized classroom and tutorial strategies to facilitate specific communication skills;
• Participate in IEP meetings of students on assigned caseload

Qualifications

• Belief that all students have what it takes to be successful.
• Speech-Language Specialist certification through the NJ DOE or equivalent.
• Master's Degree from an ASHA accredited university
• Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) preferred
• Knowledge of speech-language report writing
• Knowledge of formal speech-language assessments
