Being an Instructional Coordinator at Devereux has its advantages! As an Instructional Coordinator you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.

  • Opportunity to work directly with children diagnosed with Autism 1:1 within a structured classroom environment with Special Education Teachers, Behavior Analyst and Autism professionals.

-You will increase your knowledge and improve your skills related to behavior intervention, functional assessment and collaboration with a team that is inclusive and individualized.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health's Center for Autism Research and Educational Services (CARES) Program, located in Downingtown, PA serves up to 60 children, ages 5 through 21, with a confirmed primary diagnosis of Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD/NOS).

Instructional Coordinator responsibilities :

  • Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
  • Responsible for the children's welfare, safety, and location at all times, including during arrival and dismissal
  • Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
  • Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher
  • Work 2-3 days per week 8am-4pm

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The DianaScreen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelors degree in a related field with at least 6 months of experience working with Children with Autism (preferred).
