TITLE: Lunchroom Student Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed
REPORTS TO: Principal and Hostess
JOB GOAL: To help establish and maintain a safe, risk-free, and appropriate atmosphere in the cafeteria and to supervise students at play in the designated area during the lunch period.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Organizes students into orderly lines for purchasing food and sees that they go to assigned tables.
2. Helps students develop and observe proper dining habits, both in terms of etiquette and nutrition.
3. Assists younger students with use of utensils as needed.
4. Organizes students for orderly disposal of food wastes, trays and utensils.
5. Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the lunchroom.
6. Circulates among the tables during the meal period to assist children who need help and to resolve any discipline problems that arise.
7. Brings food from coolers and freezers to appropriate area within the cafeteria
8. Prepares the cafeteria area
9. Services students and staff from the cafeteria counter/appropriate serving
location
10. Cleans trays and maintains trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion
11. Cleans and maintains equipment as directed by hostess
12. Supervises students at play outside in designated area
13. Assists hostess, as necessary, in any other related responsibilities for the benefit of District students as assigned by lunchroom hostess, principal or Assistant Superintendent for Business Affairs, or the Assistant Superintendent's designee.
14. Work the complete two hour shift for the lunch program.
