LOCATION: SECONDARY SCHOOLS

POSITION: Computer Information Teacher/Cyber Security Advisor

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
* Bachelor's degree from accredited university
* Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required
training for subject and level assigned
* Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area(s)
* Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Special Knowledge/Skills:
* Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
* Ability to analyze, resolve computer hardware and software problems
* Knowledge of technologies available for use in instructional setting
* Ability to repair computer and technical equipment
* Must possess knowledge of desktop and network operating systems,
windows operating systems and computer troubleshooting methodologies

REQUIRED
EXPERIENCE:

Two years classroom teaching experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Teacher will provide students with appropriate learning activities and
experiences in computer maintenance and cyber security, Serve as an
instructional advisor for middle school teacher(s) to help build and deliver the
schools cyber security program.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop new course curriculum and exercises based on program
requirements.

Maintain and update existing course material and exercises based
on changes in technology, methodologies, and/or changing students'
needs.

Research current trends in cyber security and cyber operations to
identify areas for new course development or improvement.

Teach cyber security and cyber operations courses to students in a
hands-on and dynamic manner.

Present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA,
board policies and administrative regulations.

Create and experiment with innovative teaching methods, strategies,
techniques and materials in an ongoing attempt to extend the
possible approaches to working effectively with all students.

Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).

Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
Manage student behavior in accordance with student code of

conduct and student handbook.

Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students,
equipment, materials and facilities.

Establish and maintain open communication by conducting
conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers.

Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports,
records, and other documents as required.

Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff
committees as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER INFORMATION: Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in
writing, effective management and public relation skills, and ability to
maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Prolong periods of sitting,
walking, standing, bending, stooping and occasional district-wide travel. Job
requires long periods of arm, hand, finger movement and occasional lifting of
40+ lbs.
