    Audiovisual Technician
    The Scarsdale Schools' Technical Services team is seeking a talented, experienced, and highly motivated candidate for an Audiovisual Technician position.

    Under the supervision of the Manager of Educational Technology, the successful candidate will assist faculty, staff, and committees with audiovisual needs. Responsibilities include setting up and testing audiovisual and video-streaming equipment, as well as responding to service calls from buildings throughout the school district. The Audiovisual Technician corrects technical issues (bulb replacement, sound failure, wiring, etc.), repairs equipment, maintains inventory of parts. The Audiovisual Technician also manages service contracts, schedules major repair work with manufacturers when necessary, and coordinates installations of audiovisual equipment with vendors. The successful candidate procures, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide variety of audiovisual equipment, including:
    • Digital projectors, interactive Smart TVs, and document cameras
    • Remotely controlled cameras, video and audio matrix switchers, and control software
    • Security cameras and related software
    • Portable screens and LCD display monitors
    • Digital signage and related software
    • Built-in, boundary, and handheld microphones
    • Overhead speakers, portable speakers, stereo systems, headphones and recorders
    • TVs, DVD players, and camcorders
    • Cable television, laser pointers, wireless presentation mice, and universal remote controls

    This is a Non-Competitive Class Civil Service position. Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of work experience in which the primary function of the position was electrical, electronic or audiovisual maintenance and repair work.     • Thorough knowledge of audiovisual communication theory
    • Knowledge of the operation of audio, video, cable equipment
    • Ability to advise and assist in planning and producing audiovisual presentations
    • Ability to train others in the use of audiovisual equipment
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
    • Ability to document systems, processes, and procedures
    • Knowledge of public schools and their systems is preferred
