GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for developing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining web applications and software that supports Launch; troubleshoot problems and manage related software and applications; and collaborate with Launch staff, members and other information technology staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Collaborate with the Launch and information technology departments prioritizing technology support needs related to Launch operations.

Manage the relationship with Instructure to coordinate software upgrades, service requests and enhancements for the Canvas learning management system ensuring high quality learning experiences for staff and students.

Maintain accounts and password security for authorized access to Launch related software maintaining data security.

Collaborate with district, schools, departments, and individuals to support the operations of Launch ensuring access to learning resources for Launch staff and students.

Provide technical support of Launch related software such as Canvas and other learning software ensuring access to learning resources for Launch staff and students.

Design and develop web applications using industry best practices and programming standards developed by the information technology department supporting Launch operations and increasing staff efficiency.

Serve as a technical resource to all Launch districts, the Launch department, Launch staff, and Launch students providing advice regarding all technology and software utilized by Launch.

Perform other related duties as required/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent, preferred.

Implementation of web-based application software, preferred.

Prior experience with Canvas LMS, SQL Server and Visual Studio, preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements

Microsoft MCSA Web Application certification preferred.

Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems.

Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include digital design web development competencies.

Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.

Skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, including: operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; software development software and environments; providing leadership; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.

The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.

Must possess the physical ability to work primarily with fingers, perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
