Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This position is required to work with students in the Learning Center and support classroom instruction in the inclusion model. In addition, the position is responsible for working with Educational Assistants and giving direction within the classroom, as well as managing a caseload of students on IEP's.
• Demonstrates a strong knowledge of curriculum and instruction, accommodation and modifications and behavior management.
• Plans effective instructional strategies for adapting or modifying general curriculum to meet the various needs of individual students.
• Conducts academic assessments/evaluations of student abilities, writes evaluation reports and serves as a member of IEP meetings for individual students.

• Collects and analyzes student performance data to determine the extent to which student IEP goals and objectives are being met
• Assist students with both academic and social/emotional goals as stated in Individualized Education Programs
• Assist, support and work in collaboration with school psychologist, district BCBA, administration, and all other related service providers in the development, implementation and revision of student IEPs and behavior plans
• Implement Behavioral and Functional Assessments for students
• Facilitate and Chair IEP meetings as needed including annual reviews and reevaluations
• Write IEP goals and objectives as needed
• Instruct and direct assigned educational assistant(s) to maximize delivery of instructional services, behavior management and data collection techniques
• Act as a liaison between home and school
• Excellent interpersonal skills to consult effectively with educational assistants, teachers, administration, and parents.
• Maintain integrity of confidential information regarding students
• Ensure compliance with relevant IDEA and DESE regulations

DEGREE PREFERRED: • Master's Degree in Moderate Special Needs • MA DESE SEI endorsed EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: • Experience of three or more years with students in school settingAt least 3 years of relevant experience preferredMaster degree preferredCitizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
