    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • New Jersey School Administrator Certificate, Principal or Certificate of Eligibility, Standard Preferred
  • MA Degree Education Administration, Doctorate Preferred
  • Five years Experience as an Administrator
  • Building Principal Experience; Classroom teaching experience required ( 3-5 Years)

    SUPERVISES: Staff as delegated by the CEO

    JOB GOAL : To provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the instructional program of the district. To provide leadership in the development, implementation and coordination of the district's Pre K -8th Grade curriculum.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains a positive and collaborative work environment. Supports the Vision and Initaitives of the CEO/UHCS and is certain to:
  • Provide leadership for the development and implementation of curricula for all educational programs preschool through 8th grade and monitor the same to ensure that a high correlation exists among what is written.
  • Provide leadership and coordination relative to the selection and recommendation of new textbooks and instructional materials
  • Keeps abreast, interprets and informs staff of current research and trends in demonstrably effective instructional practices
  • Coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of all instructional programs and ensures current curriculum guides and maps
  • Evaluates assigned staff in accordance with Board policy
  • Assists in the evaluations of supervisory and instructional staff as directed by the CEO
  • Reviews observations and evaluation of instructional staff to ensure compliance with district policy
  • Assists in the development and implementation of staff professional development
  • Directs the district's participation in the Teacher Recognition programs
  • Coordinates Student Teacher Placements with Colleges and Universities
  • Evaluates projects proposed by members of the staff for their relevance to the district's plans and needs, and the availability of funding
  • Assumes final responsibility for the writing and submission of grant proposals specifically ESSA and Title I
  • Prepares data reports as requested by the CEO
  • Undertakes and assists in long-range planning and research activities as well as policy development
  • Supervises the development and implementation of school level planning with regard to timelines and requirements
  • Participation in the development of the budget documentation or submission to the County Superintendent
  • Monitors the instructional program budget to ensure that expenditures are consistent with allocations
  • Maintains a liaison with social, professional, civic, volunteer and other community agencies and groups having an interest in the schools
  • Manages and oversees the implementation of the new teacher program and the district mentoring program
  • Tracks students in each grade level and in each school and monitor enrollment
  • Oversees the structure and organization of the Title I services and submit Title I reports
  • Works with the CEO on the district's goals for each school year
  • Monitors the use of the new evaluation protocol and plans/facilitated for additional evaluation professional development
  • Attends evening activities/meetings when required
  • Assists administrators and teachers in the creation of SGOs for each school year
  • Acts as the testing coordinator
  • Facilitates the completion and implementation of the District's Strategic Plan
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned by the CEO, maintains confidentiality as needed

  • SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Observe, evaluate and supervise staff as assigned
  • Supervise ESL program and staff
  • Collaborate with HR and CEO in candidate selection process
  • Research grants to support the implementation of all programs
  • Monitor the infusion of technology into the instructional program and collaborate with the Director of Technology

  • TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Twelve month employee. Salary to be recommended by the CEO and approved by board.

    EVALUATION:
    Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation.
