    • Northside Catholic Academy is searching for an enthusiastic full time Computer/Technology teacher. This position will promote computer literacy among our students in grades Pre School - 8th grade. In this position you will present lessons that support our students to develop confidence in their computer and technology skills. You will have access to computer labs in both our Primary School and Middle School campus. Both labs provide the teacher and students with access to iPads, Chromebooks, and an Interactive Television.

    Responsibilities for this position include:
    • Plans lessons and activities that promote current technology learning standards.
    • Instructs students in a manner that develops students' confidence in their computer abilities.
    • Creates and manages a classroom of respect and rapport.
    • Develops projects and integrates STEM activities that encourage creativity and curiosity in students.
    • Identifies various teaching methods that will work best for students.
    • Collaborates with classroom teachers.
    • Maintains the computer labs and keeps an inventory of supplies and materials.
    • Maintains accurate records of students progress, posts grades and completes report cards.
    • Stays current on advancement in computer technology taught in the classroom.
    • Ensures the safe use of computers and digital citizenship through the use of Common Sense Media curriculum.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's for Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
    • Illinois teaching license for elementary grades.
    • Past experience preferable.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Nurturing and adaptable approach to teaching.
    • Passionate about fostering computer literacy.
    • Continuing education courses for keeping up with technology advancements.
    • Experience in creating videos and the use of green screen helpful.
