Roaring Fork School Distric seeks a full-time nurse for the 2021-22 school year and beyond.
The School Nurse will provide nursing services to District students PK-12. Previous school nursing experience, and an active CDE School Nurse licensure are preferred, but not necessary. Spanish Speaking ability is a huge plus. This is a salaried, benefited position.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing or a closely-related field. (RN or above, BSN preferred)

Licensure:
Ability to be licensed through the Colorado Department of Education as a School Nurse.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Provides direct and indirect care given to students in compliance with school district policies, professional standards of practice, physician's orders, and the Individual Health Plan.Ensures compliance with all state statutes and laws regarding student health records and immunizations.Prepares and submit reports for the State Board of Health.Assists in maintaining the health office and log of students needing services; regularly orders health room supplies.Documents nursing interventions on narrative notes and/or health room log.Performs vision and hearing screenings and coordinates follow up if needed. May train health aides and parent volunteers to assist.Administers medication to students according to district and state guidelines.Develops and manages a school health care plan to meet the student's individual or special health needs in the school setting.Collaborates with school personnel, students, parents and primary health care providers to develop the health care plan.Develops and provides health care procedures and provides training for carrying out the services to meet the health needs.Acts as a liaison between school, community health care providers, parents and students.Coordinates all medical contacts, referrals and interpretation of medical data.Develops and trains staff in universal precautions and other health related topics.Communicates with all building principals and efficiently responds to requests for service. Keeps principals informed of any health related problems. Checks district email weekly if not daily.Prepares and might attend special education staffings for students who qualify for health services.Other duties as assigned.
