Do you love working with children? Are you looking for part-time employment? The Essex Westford School District is seeking part-time bus aides and/or aides who would substitute as a school bus or minivan driver to transport special needs students to and from school. This position will have additional duties related to COVID-19 such as screening students, ensuring students are following COVID safety practices, and assisting with sanitization of vehicles.

Work schedule may include a split shifts beginning as early as 6:00 am and ending as late as 5:00 pm.

Hours worked as a driver pay $20.00/hour. Hours worked as a bus aide pay $18.00/hour.

Candidates with a CDL class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements preferred, but we would consider candidates with a Class C and/or no CDL who would be willing to drive a minivan. Training towards CDL available for interested applicants.

Job Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Basic education (high school or equivalent), plus one to two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. - Good communication skills and the ability to speak clearly to and deal courteously and efficiently with students, staff and supervisors. - Demonstrated abilities and personal qualities needed to work effectively with children and adolescents with special needs, and a desire to work with this population. - First aid and CPR training, and additional relevant health service training or experience desirable. - Physical ability to do required lifting and to perform first aid, CPR and other medical procedures if necessary.
