PURPOSE OF JOB: KCPS Communications Department is seeking a person who has the skills (scriptwriting, on-location production, multi-camera studio production and post-production, and the use of non-linear editing systems) to assist in the production of programming for the district television station.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Write, edit and coordinate production of professional, informative and creative television segments and programs.
Record and edit video for KCPS Homeroom TV Show.
Produce segments for KCPS Homeroom TV Show.
Create content where needed to support project needs.
Create other content and program KCPS-TV.
Provide communications and marketing support for KCPS athletic and extra-curricular programs and KCPS-TV.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Kansas City Public Schools current instructor
Experience in Television Broadcasting and Production and/or Newsroom Management
Knowledge of current trends in Television Broadcasting and Production
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills (oral and written), and leadership skills
Time management skills, ability to prioritize
Prior broadcast television writing and production experience
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Television, video, and radio technologies; personal computers; multimedia and graphic design software; and teaching strategies and modalities.
MAC computers, Final Cut Pro/Studio, Adobe, and other technology related to media and content production.
Multimedia Production theory and applications in the following areas:
Television, video, DVD, radio, and/or other multimedia industries;
Advanced multimedia production utilizing various software programs and graphics;
Television and radio program production;
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, lift objects of at least ten pounds.
