Adlai E. Stevenson High School (Lincolnshire, IL) is seeking a Director of Public Information for the 2020-2021 school year.

Description:

Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 is a five-time US Department of Education Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and serves a large diverse community of professional and adolescent learners. Students are of diverse backgrounds and cultural heritages and bring as assets their diversity of thought, beliefs, goals, and needs to the learning environment. Stevenson is at the cradle of the Professional Learning Community movement and seeks student-centered, innovative, forward-thinking, reflective practitioners to help achieve the mission of Success for Every Student.

The Director of Public Information position is a full-time, 12-month, administrative position, with supervisory duties. The qualified candidate will provide leadership to support the District's mission through effective internal and external communication, and increase the awareness of events, publications and programs at Stevenson High School.

The Director of Public Information serves as the District's media liaison, preparing and sending news releases to the media and responding to media requests for information and interviews.

The Director of Public Information will be responsible for the Public Information Team which prepares the e-Minuteman, the Daily Digest, the District 125 Board of Education annual report, the annual graduation booklet for commencement ceremonies, the annual fine arts calendar, the programs for the Foundation's performing arts series and conduct tours of the school for educators and other members of the general public.

Qualifications:

Strong candidates will have:
  • excellent oral and written communication skillsstrong interpersonal skillsstrong presentation skillsthe ability to create positive and trusting working relationshipsthe ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities, sensitive information and simultaneous projects.

A degree in Public Relations, communications, or a related field.
Experience in a similar role providing leadership in a Public Relations environment.
Experience working in a school district setting is preferred.
