Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Long-Term Substitute Social Worker at the High School to perform the following duties:

• Provide individual counseling to address social emotional learning and help students cope with challenges that effect their school performance, behavior and socialization
• Communication with parents, staff and administrators
• Maintain ongoing caseload to track student concerns and progress; assess new referrals for counseling need and support
• Educational team member to attend special education and Section 504 meetings; attend school-based Instructional Support Team, Community Based Justice and necessary district-wide meetings
• Provide information and referrals for outside of school support services or agencies and maintain an ongoing liaison with community agencies
• Consultation to classroom teachers and support staff to provide support around student social emotional learning and behavior
• Crisis intervention/triage referral/risk assessments/behavior management

The dates for this position are August 27, 2020 through approx. December 6, 2020.

Job Requirements

DEGREE PREFERRED: • Master's Degree in Social Work or other licensed Mental Health Provider • MA DESE Licensure as a School Social Worker preferred EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: • Experience preferred working with High School students and families in social, emotional and behavioral health
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferredMaster degree preferredCitizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
