School Aged Child Care (SACC) Site Managers

The Helena School District # 1 School Aged Child Care (SACC) Program has openings for full-time and part-time School Aged Child Care (SACC) Site Managers. The work location is undetermined at this time. These positions are responsible for the management and supervision of an after school child care facility Monday through Friday.
Qualifications include: Associates degree or equivalent; two years experience as a licensed and/or registered group or family day care provider or day care center staff person; one to two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the district. A bachelors' degree in education or related field is desired. Current entry-level salary range is $13.66 to $14.71 per hour DOQ/DOE and includes a pro-rated benefit package.

Position Description

Job Title: School Aged Child Care Site Manager
Department: School Aged Child Care Program
Reports To: SACC Program Coordinator
Prepared Date: October 2018

SUMMARY : Responsible for the management and supervision of a school aged child care facility and the day-to-day planning of the facility activities. Supervise students before and/or after school and during outside play. Responsible for representing the program and district in a positive way to students, staff, parents, and the school community. Proper completion of necessary licensure forms and permissions must be adhered to.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain a safe and orderly program environment.
Plan and supervise day to day program activities according to program model and in conjunction with instructors at the site. Collects lesson plans from Instructors.
Supervise and manage employees assigned to the site.Interact with parents to keep them informed, answer questions and address concerns.
Conducts a RESPECT talk with each class.
Responsible for all children in the program at that site. Calls parents whose children have not been picked up by the appropriate time each day and ensures children are picked up.
Maintain appropriate standards for children's behavior using non-punitive methods which teach self-discipline while supporting children's self-esteem.Maintain standards for licensing and keep necessary records.
Secure alternate locations for additional classes or inclement weather (make adjustments as needed)
Maintain that the on-site location is being used properly, with no damage made to facility
Unlock/lock all rooms each day and ensures site security.
Arranges for repair/replacement of equipment and regular cleaning of program areas.Purchases supplies in a timely fashion and in accordance with district/program purchasing procedures.Keep daily attendance records for students and staff. Prepare reports.
Responsible for fee collection and accounting records as directed.
Responsible for payroll and leave administration for site staff.
Promotes a positive attitude of program with all other school personnel and the general public.
Attends and schedules staff meetings and staff training sessions.
Arranges for substitutes for staff according to district/program procedures.
Regularly advises the Program Manager of site progress or problems.
Assist with classes with need during down time.
Seeks out new, interesting activities and experiences for children within the parameters set for program activities.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Supervises Para Educators and assists with the supervision of students attending the school aged child-care program.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

Must be at least 18 years of age, with at least two (2) years experience as a licensed or registered group or family day care provider or day care center staff experience or have a bachelors degree in education or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, guardians, and/or staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Ability to meet multiple demands from several people. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, guardians and/or the school community. Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students, understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements, Board of Education policies and applicable state statutes.
