Employee Relations Specialist, Human Resources

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to assist in the implementation of programs that aim to attract, measure, develop and manage an organization's talent pool. This is a highly visible role that will establish strong partnerships with leaders and front-line managers and will work collaboratively to shape performance management and employee retention. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to drive a significant and meaningful positive impact on our workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performance Management
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to leaders, managers/supervisors on the performance management process, such as coaching, counseling, competencies, performance evaluations and performance improvement plans.
  • Engage in follow-up discussions with managers and supervisors to ensure that performance related issues are being monitored, tracked and addressed on an ongoing basis through resolution.
  • Track organization-wide performance management and equity issues to identify trends
  • Work in partnership with Promise Academy Charter School leadership to monitor and track performance of new teachers.

Employee Retention
  • Work closely with HR to ensure successful new hire experience within the first 30, 60, 90 days after onboarding.
  • Conducts exit interviews to determine why people are leaving the organization and build relationships and initiatives the extend employee tenure.
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative retention data by conducting and analyzing employee exit surveys.

Compliance
  • Monitor employee compliance with required trainings (e.g.: sexual harassment) and facilitate training when necessary.

Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of labor laws and performance management tools
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be able to work within and maintain the confidentiality required of the organization and the Human Resources Department
  • Ability to report and interpret data and make recommendations to various stakeholders
  • Ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with staff; facilitate productive working relationships between management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to administer multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
