    DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer, the Director of the Teacher and School Leader Incentive Program oversees the year-long teacher preparation program. A deep knowledge of teacher preparation, coaching best practices and designing and delivering professional development to a variety of stakeholders are essential for this position. Effective communication and strong relationship building are at the center of this role. This individual will also coordinate the Teacher and School Leadership Incentive Program to ensure compliance and meeting program deliverables.

    5. Danielson Evaluation and student growth assessments

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Oversees the development and implement of the Urban Education Teacher Residency Program
    (TRP): a program of gradual release that includes pre-service teaching and field experiences,
    that develops high quality, well trained teachers.
    2. Develops and organizes the TRP Program curriculum for Residents and Mentor Teachers in
    partnership with the TRP Leadership Team and University Partners
    3. Supervises the selection and development of Mentor Teachers, who directly engage with
    residents in a year-long classroom apprenticeship, using data, observations, and administrative
    recommendations
    4. Develops and supervises monthly Professional Development for the TRP Program in addition to Summer Orientation 5. Builds and sustains relationships with AUSL Leadership, Training Site Principals, University Coordinators, Mentor Teachers, and Residents
    6. Oversees coordination of the State Licensure process for each training program (edTPA)
    7. Supervises Mentor Resident Coach (MRC), who act as site coordinators at the training schools 8. Develops and applies performance evaluation tools for MRCs, Mentors and Residents
    9. Coordinates the hiring and placement of Resident graduates into the District 189 Network of
    Schools
    10. Supervises the selection of Resident candidates into the program, including design, training, and coordination, and admission
    11. Works with AUSL and External Partners team on grant implementation and supervision

    Desired Qualifications: Experience
    o Ilinois Professional Educator's License with a Principal Endorsement
    o Master's Degree (minimum)
    o Minimum 5 years teaching experience
    o Experience coaching teachers and /or pre service candidates
    o Track record of successful project management
    o Experience with budget management and performance evaluations

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and make frequent use of the computer. Reading and making reports are often required. The employee must frequently synthesize complex material and make recommendations.
