POSITION SUMMARY

The Information Technology (IT) Operations Data Specialist provides support to the Asset Management team by bringing together the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present Atlanta Public Schools' (APS) raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. The IT Data Specialist contributes in the development, implementation and adherence to IT policies and procedures. This position also works closely with others in IT Infrastructure, Accountability, IT Information Services, IT Applications, APS Business Units, all APS schools, and many external vendors and service providers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Maintains quality control of asset management systems
  • Participates in IT asset projects and initiatives
  • Manages IT logistic parts and asset inventory
  • Develops a strategy for tracking all IT assets digitally to determine assignments
  • Tests and integrates various data management system software
  • Provides technology support with Individualized Education Platforms (i.e. IBM Cloud Services(Nimbus), Follett Destiny, Infinite Campus, and SharePoint)
  • Serves as a subject matter expert as it relates to data analysis, visualization, application, and interpretation
  • Plans and coordinates asset audits throughout the district
  • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
  • Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated


Requirements :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field is required

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

ITIL and/or Six Sigma certification preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years of work experience in data analysis and production for use in a K-12 environment
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change and adaptability is required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Ability to perform data analysis and generate system and AdHoc reports
  • Ability to adhere to and execute against documented procedures, and to hold others accountable to documented processes, procedures and standards
  • Proven ability to positively influence change and navigate successfully in a rapidly changing environment
  • Possess the initiative to prioritize and independently drive actions to completion
  • Proficient in understanding of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong database skills with the ability to run complex queries


Compensation :

Salary Grade: 130

Salary Range: FY'20 APS Salary Schedule (All Positions)
