Lake Forest Community High School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute School Psychologist for the approximate dates of September 14, 2020 through December 11, 2020.

Description: The School Psychologist will support student growth across the continuum of services and provide support to LHFS staff and families. The School Psychologist will be supervised by administrators in Educational Services and/or Special Education.

Essential Functions:
  • Serves as a member of Student Services and Special Education departmentsSupports the work of the 504 CoordinatorServes as 504 case managers, responsible for engaging and supporting the entire process for Section 504 services (i.e. initials, progress monitoring, re-evals, annual reviews)Serves as a member of LFHS Core Teams and engages in internal problem-solving meetingsParticipates in IEP meetings and completes IEP documentation as neededParticipates in the Child Find process and conducts special education initial evaluations and reevaluationsConducts file reviewsEngages in support and intervention planningAssists with progress monitoring focused on student growthProvides consulting and training for faculty and administrators (general and special education)Conducts FBAsSupports the creation and revision of BIPsFacilitates direct service groupsSupports students in various school-based programs in special education and general education as determinedMaintains timely communication with the necessary stakeholder groupsCollects data and reports program outcomesParticipates in department and school-wide meetingsEngages in ongoing professional growth and developmentSupports district-wide articulation effortsProvides individual and group counselingServes as a member of the Crisis Intervention TeamSupervises School Psychologist Interns and Practicum studentsServes on related committees as determined

Qualifications:
  • Professional Educators License (PEL) with a School Psychologist EndorsementExperience with 504/IEP writing and implementation preferredKnowledgeable of RtI/MTSS—academic, social, behavioral and emotional supportsExperience administering and understanding psychoeducational assessmentsExperience collaborating with outside social service agencies and supportsUnderstanding of the continuum of servicesAbility to initiate and complete work without an inordinate amount of supervision and directionEffective and efficient communicatorProficient use of Microsoft Office suite, Google Apps for Education and school-based processing and management systems
