Position Description:

A Distinctive Schools English Language Program Teacher will serve as the main liaison between the campus leadership and the network Student Services team and is responsible for the primary oversight of the school English Language Program. This person will:
  • Coordinate the English Language Program for the assigned campus including ACCESS testing, student files and all compliance matters

    Develop and implement instructional activities which promote the use of the English Language

    Design, prepare and deliver dynamic lesson plans and instructional materials to English Language (EL) students in conjunction with their classroom teacher

    Utilize a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources geared specifically towards EL students

    Has a mindset of using restorative justice approach with discipline

    Create a developmentally appropriate, positive, inclusive and safe learning environment

    Monitor progress to ensure all students are demonstrating high rates of growth

    Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development

    Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse social-emotional, cultural, economic and ability backgrounds

    Work closely with team members and parents to best meet the needs to students



Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree

    Illinois Professional Educators License

    Bilingual-Spanish or Transitional Bilingual Endorsement
