Role: The Pre-K Instructional Assistant will provide instructional and clerical support to classroom teachers. The Instructional Assistant will support and assist students in learning class material using teacher's lesson plans, providing students with individualized attention. The Instructional Assistant will also supervise students in the classroom, cafeteria, recess, hallways, field trips and other learning environments.

Essential Functions
    • Regular and punctual attendance per contracted hours
    • Participation in the parent-teacher conferences and additional activities
    • Collaborates with classroom teacher to coordinate instruction, and to analyze data to plan for small group and one-on-one instruction
    • Communicate, model and support management and discipline in the classroom
    • Ensure safety & well-being of all students at all times
    • Attend staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required
    • Encourage students to set and maintain standards of school behavior
    • Assists with maintaining logs, files, and records as necessary
    • Before and After-Care Programs
    • Contribute to the positive atmosphere of the school
    • Perform other duties that may be assigned by Principal or designee

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong public speaking skills;
    • Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree is preferred;
    • Substitute Teacher Certification or CE/CEAS
    • Possession of a current and valid teaching certificate in the appropriate subject/content area issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
    • Current authorization to work in the United States - A candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
    • Bilingual is preferred.

Salary, Goals and Employment Period
    • Salary Range: Competitive compensation package
    • Full time
    • Employment Period: 11 Months
