Westford Elementary School is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and dedicated professional to teach a grade 5 & 6 multi-age classroom starting with the beginning of the 2020-21 school year through the end of December, 2020 to cover for a leave of absence. The focus of this position shall be literacy. This long-term substitute position pays $260/day.

Qualified candidates must hold a valid Educator license in Elementary Education. The ideal candidate will also have relevant teaching experience that demonstrates the following:

- Deep knowledge and understanding of the Common Core State Standards in Literacy
- Experience at the primary elementary level preferred
-Knowledge of a balanced literacy approach
- The use of "backwards design" for lesson development
- The use of differentiated instruction to support all students
- The use of formative assessment to provide student feedback and to adjust lesson delivery
- The use of technology to transform teaching and lea
- The use of the Responsirningve Classroom approach to establish a safe and caring classroom community and the use of a school-wide approach PBIS
- Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for students
- Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to the success of ALL students, and ability to understand and teach to the various learning styles of students
- The ability to effectively engage students
- Commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of knowledge and professional practice
-Stong commitment to collaboration and the principles of a professional learning community
