Position Overview:
The Talent Manager/ HR Officer will perform a full range of recruitment and placement activities including designing and conducting recruitment strategies, writing and publishing job announcements, reviewing applications/resumes for minimum qualifications, and conducting job analysis. The Talent Manager/HR Officer will also coordinate, design and facilitate professional development activities to support teacher evaluations, mentorships, and for new employees. The Talent Manager/ HR Officer will focus primarily on licensed staff. The Talent Manager/HR Officer will report to the Director, Human Resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
"Perform full range of recruitment (e.g., sourcing, screening, and selection) according to relevant job criteria, using computer databases, networking, internet recruiting resources, media, recruiting firms, and employee referrals.
"Coordinate, design and facilitate professional development activities to support teacher evaluations, mentorships, and onboarding for new employees.
"Assist with the coordination of the recruitment process, including development of a recruitment schedule, advertising vacancies, completing initial screenings, etc., that will lead to the attraction and retention of highly qualified staff.
"Attend scheduled recruitment events as the lead recruiter for the school division.
"Assist in the development of recruitment marketing materials
"Identify school based vacancies and recruits, interviews, selects and extends offers to applicants.
"Participate in planning and conducting career invitational, job fairs, universities/college campus recruiting, and internship programs.
"Coordinate and facilitate annual New Teacher Orientation Program.
"Coordinate and facilitate New Teacher Mentor program and assist with HR related on-boarding sessions for new employees.
"Assist with the monitoring of professional development activities required for licensure renewal.
"Assist with the development of the Teacher Residency Program.
"Develop, maintain, and disseminate job descriptions for instructional staff.
"Maintain membership in such state, regional, and national staffing associations as will benefit the school system's process of recruitment.
"Manage staffing data for analysis and report generation to the Director, HR.
"Assist with coordinating and implementing HRIS software training on the teacher evaluation process to supervisors and/or teachers
"Perform other related duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
"Masters degree in teacher education, school administration (preferred), or human resources from an accredited college or university.
"Teaching and school-based administrative experience preferred with experience providing professional development.
"Experiences in functional areas such as recruitment, workforce planning and employment, human resources development, compensation, employee relations or school licensure preferred.
"Experience in using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
"Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Google applications
"Knowledge of the K-12 education environment.
"Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, organize tasks in order to provide effective and efficient human resource services
"Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently
"Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
"Demonstrated ability to coordinate, design, and facilitate training
