Description: Jo Mackey is a magnet school with a theme focus of Leadership and Digital Sciences. Applicants should be knowledgeable of ELL strategies, demonstrate strong differentiation skills, be able to collaborate with colleagues, and understand data analysis and PLC structures. This position will be required to prepare 21st century learners and provide an introduction to automation, the engineering process, drones, and aerospace, as well as elective/exploration courses as needed.
Position Requirements: 1. Integrates leadership and technology into all instructional programs 2. Provides foundational knowledge about careers in a program area with hands-on learning, leadership development, and career exploration. 3. Focuses on Automation Technologies and Engineering. 4. Introduces students to aerospace in a fun and engaging way. Introducing students to the concepts / laws of basic flight engage in rocketry, role models in aviation, and careers in the field of aerospace. 5. Challenge students to design, build, and fly various models of planes, rockets, and drones. Students will be studying droneology, in an online drone education platform that introduces students to drone fundamentals, safety and real-world applications. Students will practice mastering basic piloting skills, brainstorming ways drones could be used for good, sketching out their ideas for new and innovative drones and drone uses. 6. Teach Career and Technical Education Explorations (CTE) with a focus on Automation Technologies and Engineering that provides students the foundational knowledge about careers in a program area with hands-on learning, leadership development, and career exploration.
Education and Training: An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Licenses and Certifications: Must possess or be able to acquire by time of appointment to the position, a teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education. Must be certified in
relevant subject area. When applying for a certificated licensed position, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as listed on the appropriate position vacancy announcement.
Position Expectations: Applicants will be expected to mentor an extra curricular club/sport/activity.
