Reproductive Health Program Manager

HCZ's reproductive health program provides education and support to promote sexual health, safety, positive relationships, and general well-being of HCZ students and families. The Reproductive Health Program Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of program delivery, including curriculum-based sex education, workshops, and parent engagement activities. The Reproductive Health Program Manager also serves on internal working groups and committees to promote the growth of a gender-inclusive culture throughout the organization. This position reports to the Healthy Harlem Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with Promise Academies, afterschool programs, and school-based health centers to strengthen and expand program effectiveness
  • Supervise a small team of reproductive health educators by providing structure, direction, support and development
  • Develop work plans, timelines, and activities designed to achieve program goals
  • Support schools in the implementation of a health education course requirement, including sexual health education content
  • Design and conduct staff trainings on sexual health education and LGBTQ+ inclusiveness and connect staff to additional professional development opportunities
  • Integrate strategies to actively engage parents, including workshops on communicating with children around issues related to puberty, sexuality and reproductive health
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation, tracking program deliverables using both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods
  • Represent Reproductive Health team on internal working groups and committees
  • Facilitate sexual education classes for students, as needed

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Master's Degree with at least five years of experience in the promotion, implementation and/or assessment of school-based sex education
  • Demonstrated expertise in sexuality and reproductive health, including LGBTQ+ inclusiveness
  • Experience working with schools, youth-serving organizations, and community-based organizations, particularly organizations serving youth of color
  • Skilled in the provision of technical assistance, training, and professional development, preferably in the area of sex education
  • Experience supervising others and leading teams
  • The ability to balance multiple projects at once and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills both oral and written
  • Team-oriented with strong organizational and collaborative skills

  • Must be available Tuesday - Saturday
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends, on occasion
