The Technology Asset Management Analyst will be an integral part of the $130 million dollar Technology Modernization project which will provide a mobile computing device (iPad, Chromebook, Laptop) for each student in the district. The Technology Asset Management Analyst will leverage his/her experience and expertise in asset management to implement, deliver, and track technology assets at each school in the district. This position also maintains data integrity and ensures accurate inventory reporting.

The Technology Asset Management Analyst will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Processing requests for purchases, deployment, and recycling of equipment

  • Ensuring accurate reporting of each school's inventory of assets procured through the Technology Modernization Project

  • Performing an annual reconciliation of devices based on student population at each school

  • Coordinating the transfer of assets between locations in accordance with the applicable laws, rules, regulations, and Board Policies

  • Tracking asset lifecycle of select district technology assets purchased through the Technology Modernization Project

  • Collaborating with ITS teams and vendors to assist in the timely delivery to schools

  • Provide reporting and ad hoc analysis as needed

  • Acts as the primary liaison to the Controller's office for ITS compliance with the Asset and Inventory Management Policy

  • Provide other Asset Management Support as needed

  • Perform all other duties as assigned



In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Technology Asset Management Analyst must possess the following qualifications:

Type of Education Preferred :

  • Bachelors in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain or related field.



Type of Experience and Number of Years :

  • 3-5 years of experience with managing IT assets through their lifecycle is preferred.

  • Strong IT Procurement, Accounting, and Budgeting background highly desired



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and an innovative thinker.

  • Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle

  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; ability to work with a diverse team

  • Demonstrated experience with ITAM tools (Information Technology Asset Management)

  • Intermediate to expert Excel/Google spreadsheet knowledge



Residency Requirement:

As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and must maintain residency throughout their employment with the district.
