Pinellas County Schools is the 8th largest school district in the state of Florida and the 27th largest district in the nation. We currently educate over 102,000 students each year.  With an instructional workforce of 7400-plus teachers, we strive to offer our teachers with the best support to make them successful; in turn, our students will also be successful.  Because of our focus on growing and supporting our teachers, Pinellas County Schools was recognized as a “Great District for Great Teachers” in 2017; an honor given to only 8 school districts nationwide.  With over 120 different school sites, ranging from elementary, middle, and high schools, career and technical centers, ESE centers, and alternative education sites, we have school settings and academic programs to meet all employment preferences.

If you have never heard of Pinellas County, we are located in the Tampa Bay region of Florida, just to the west of the city of Tampa. Our county’s population is approximately 930,000 residents with 24 different municipalities.  The largest city is St. Petersburg, which is currently the home of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays and is recognized for its stellar visual and performing arts venues, having more than 20 museums, including the Salvador Dali Museum. We are a very urbanized and diverse area that is nationally recognized for having some of the nation’s prettiest beaches.

Pinellas County Schools continues to maintain the AdvancED Accreditation Commission’s Systems Accreditation, the highest level of accreditation a school system can receive from the organization.
