William Penn Charter School seeks a social studies department chair, beginning with the 2010-2011 academic year. We seek a person with significant teaching experience, preferably with many grade levels, and experience in administration and cross-division and interdisciplinary work. The successful candidate will also have an advanced degree and an understanding of Quaker education and/or the Religious Society of Friends. Cover letter should include: your understanding of how social studies skills are taught for 21st century learners, your experience and approach to supervision and to cross-divisional and interdisciplinary work
