Summary of Position:
Manage a large comprehensive high school comprised of a variety of academic, activity, and athletic programs. Serve as an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by facilitating the development, articulation, and implementation of a clear vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community. Manage the human resources to ensure an orderly work and learning environment. Ensure safety of students and staff.
•Assess quality of classroom instruction by monitoring and evaluating lessons; analyzing summative, formative, and common assessment data; and conducting walk-throughs regularly.
•Evaluate data to determine areas for growth with in school
•Implement approved district curriculum and state and district graduation
•Assume final responsibility of the School Unified Improvement Plan
•Facilitate state mandated assessments
•Supervise, schedule, hire, coach, and evaluate staff
•Ensure and provide oversight for School Accountability Committee
•Provide ongoing evaluation and implementation of site-based decision making practices
•Communicate student needs and concerns with parents and teachers
•Oversee master schedule with over 300 individual classes
•Provide opportunities and encourage ongoing training and education for staff
•Coordinate school-based management and facilities team management
•Develop and coordinate school programs
•Establish guidelines and expectations for appropriate student behavior
•Assume final responsibility for discipline issues and appeal processes at the building level for students, staff, and community.
•Plan, coordinate, and administer school-wide budget including instructional
and capital reserve expenditures
•Develop, supervise, and participate in social, cultural, interscholastic, and
•Organize and facilitate team- and/or building- based discussions or meetings
•Support and implement all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and
expectations and uphold state law
•Guide and manage staff, students, parents, and school community through change processes
•Act as a liaison between Poudre School District and the community
•Motivate students and staff to excel in all capacities
•Be visible throughout the school and at school functions
•Maintain commitment to providing personal and professional excellence
•Portray a positive attitude in school environment
•Serve on multiple school and district committees
•Encourage development of a positive self-concept/attitude toward learning
•Participate in principal-based meetings and discussions
•Coordinate and collaborate with district departments
•Perform other job related duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree with successful completion of principal licensure program required. A minimum of five years of building administrative experience also required. Internal candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of Poudre School District experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

•Knowledge of Colorado School Law and standards
•Ability to promote and follow District policies and building and department procedures
•Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with all people, including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
•Willingness to contribute to cultural diversity for educational enrichment
•Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety
rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
Valid Colorado Principal License

$101,138/year and up depending on qualifications
