  • Work with faculty, administrators, educational technology staff, and other library media professionals to establish library media program goals that are an integral part of the MPS educational program
  • Provide library media professional development for K-12 media specialists
  • Interpret and promote the school media program goals, activities, and policies to students, faculty, administration, and community
  • Support school library media personnel in the day-to-day operations of the school library media program
  • Serve as district library media specialist and direct the activities of the Media Resource Center
  • Coordinate Summer Reading Program with local YMCA's and Boys and Girls Clubs
  • Select, organize, distribute, and maintain materials and equipment for the Media Resource Center
  • Conduct research to assist in the development and operation of exemplary district level programs
  • Work with school library media specialists to meet SACS accreditation standards
  • Monitor and submit grant proposals related to library media
  • To establish a positive relationship with parents, students, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors

Salary Range: From/To: $67, 237.00-$89, 898.00 (Board approved salary schedule based on rank, certification, and experience)

Additional Job Information: The person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.90 fee. This is required by law.
