    REPORTS TO: Operation AmeriCorps Project Manager
    SUMMARY
    The primary purpose of the Member Supervisor is to manage AmeriCorps member scheduling and provide general AmeriCorps member support for approximately 85 full and part-time members serving at multiple sites in East St. Louis. Member Supervisor will work individually with members to ensure they are achieving their personal goals of service, are scheduled appropriately, and are supported when problems arise with their service sites. The Members Supervisor will meet at least monthly with each member to assess challenges, provide direction, and resolve problems as they develop. The Member Supervisor reports to the Operation AmeriCorps Project Manager and collaborates with the other Operation AmeriCorps community partners.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Sets and maintains the schedule and service hour logs for Operation AmeriCorps members.
    • Supports AmeriCorps member recruitment, selection, orientation and training.
    • Prepares and provides training materials for AmeriCorps members.
    • Tracks and monitors appropriate participation by AmeriCorps members.
    • Supports compliance with federal program guidelines.
    • Coordinates, manages, and implements yearly calendar of activities and events.
    • Supports the development of kickoff, recognition and closure activities for AmeriCorps members.
    • Provides mentoring support and guidance to AmeriCorps members; helps create a supportive environment and positive experience for AmeriCorps members.
    • Supports AmeriCorps members by providing formal and informal, constructive feedback.
    • Provides consistent communication (written, by phone and in person) to AmeriCorps members.
    • Tracks and monitors appropriate participation by AmeriCorps members and site partners; maintains records.
    • Supports data management and preparation of required reporting, including budget reporting.
    • Develops flyers, memos and other correspondence or marketing materials to a variety of audiences, including community members and AmeriCorps members.
    • Participates in school events, celebrations and staff meetings as requested.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Maintain a commitment to understanding service learning and current best-practice standards for supporting at-risk youth.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdepartmental and community team.
    • Experience working with low-income communities, schools, and/or community-based (non-profit) organizations.
    • Strengths-based solutions orientation.
    • Youth or volunteer management experience a plus.
    • Ability to listen, respond and diffuse others as the situation requires.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Sensitivity to work well in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural environment with volunteers, community members, students, parents, faculty, and staff.
    • Access to a car, possession of a valid driver's license, and proof of current automobile insurance.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor's Degree or two (2) years of relevant experience
    • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS, WORK HAZARDS
    • Standard office and school building work environments.
    • Must be able to work outdoors during outdoor student or member activities.
    • Must be able to stand and lift up to 25lbs.
    • Must be willing to travel locally.
