The Software System Administrator is a member of the Office of Information and Technology and reports directly to the Director of Data Warehousing and IT Operations. The position supports the district in the implementation, management, annual rollover, and on-going maintenance of district software systems (this particular position will support implementation and management of the Munis system). The system administrator also supports the development of processes and training related to the use and management of data systems.

The system administrator interfaces closely and collaborates with multiple offices within Pittsburgh Public Schools and school-based user group in order to ensure that technical systems are designed and deployed in a way that meets the needs of end users, and the needs of the programs/departments within the district. This includes coordinating resources and timelines across multiple district and technology work streams and ensures that high quality training and ongoing support is provided so that end users follow best practices, including the use of newly deployed technology that rely upon robust system integrations.

The system administrator is also responsible for developing and executing an end-user engagement and communications strategy and fostering positive project perception across district and community stakeholders. Solid business analysis duties that require understanding key business requirements and how they may be met with more robust data integrations are vital to this duty.

Salary:
Support Exempt Salary Scale
Grade 7, Step 1 - $71, 873 per year

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, Technical Software Experience, Training/Professional Development, Strong writing and presentation skills.

Residency Requirements: City of Pittsburgh Residency Required

Essential Job Functions:
- Provide leadership for the implementation, training, and end-user engagement related to the data systems within the district application portfolio. This role will focus on the District ERP System (Finance, Purchasing, Payroll, and HR) - the ERP be the primary area of focus for this position, though as needs evolve, the administrator may also support other software systems including, but not limited to:
- Student Information System
- Student Learning Management System
- Transportation System
- Food Services System
- Curriculum Tools and Systems
- Student Services Tools and Systems
- Assessment Tools and Systems

- Responsible for review and response to all support tickets and responding to school-based users, concerns and uses. This occurs through training and regular engagements with school-based or departmental users (depending on system in question).

- Communicate regularly with Pittsburgh Public Schools staff, including Curriculum department leadership, central office users and with school-based users.

- Provide documentation of all service/project requests rendered within the OIT issue tracking system, JIRA

- Provide technical training for district staff and teachers as required to support software applications with a direct focus on school-based staff members.
