Middleburg Community Charter School in Middleburg, Virginia is seeking an experienced Elementary Principal with strong leadership skills and a collaborative, results-oriented management style. MCCS is a year-round School of Choice with student admission determined partially by lottery, and a project-based learning model with unique community and off-site experiences as integral components of the school day. The Elementary Principal serves as chairperson on an advisory team and provides input and feedback to the Board of Directors and Charter School at large. This position develops and communicates a vision of quality education in a non-traditional classroom setting, and builds strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and community. The Elementary Principal reports to the Board of Directors and oversees a staff of 18. 

The MCCS Board of Directors is seeking an experienced Elementary Principal with strong leadership skills who is a collaborative, results-oriented leader with a passion for public education in a non-traditional classroom setting. The Principal must bring exemplary communication skills, evidence of proven academic achievement, and a passion for building relationships.  The Principal serves as chairperson on the School Mission Team (SMT), an advisory team, providing input, feedback, and assistance to the Board of Directors and Charter School at large. The Principal leads the school in developing academic excellence through teaching and learning in a non-traditional classroom setting. The Principal will develop and communicate a vision of quality education for the future. This vision will guide the Board of Directors, staff and parents, will inspire trust and self-confidence, and will model high standards of integrity and personal performance.

This position requires a Master’s degree in education administration, and extensive administrative and educational experience. Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible to hold a licensure as a building-level principal through the Commonwealth of Virginia (Administration and Supervision, Pre-12 endorsement). Qualified candidates will have extensive experience and knowledge in instruction and instructional processes and in facilitating the delivery of “best practice” and research-related curriculum, instruction and assessment in a non-traditional setting, and extensive experience as a building-level principal in curriculum development. Charter school experience preferred.
