Auto Equipment Operator I - Plant Operations/Transportation Division

Operates automobiles, trucks or vans to deliver supplies to various schools or administrative offices. Loads, transports and unloads such materials to specific delivery locations as requested. Must be able to perform a required Pennsylvania Department of Transportation pre trip inspection. Adds air, gas, oil, etc., as needed or reports major maintenance needs to truck supervisor. Maintains condition of truck assigned including washing, minor maintenance, etc. Receives pick-up and delivery drays covering material and equipment to be transported. Loads material on truck and transports to the required location then unloads and places in specific area. After trip, dates and signs receipted drays, returning them to truck supervisor. Supervises truck helper when necessary. Frequent lifting required between 50 to 80 lbs. Occasional lifting over 80 pounds required.

Salary:
Local 297 Salary Schedule ($23.71 per hour)

Work Year: 12 months

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of City of Pittsburgh traffic laws, names and locations of city streets, schools and buildings of the Pittsburgh School System.

- Minimum of one year experience operating large trucks owned by the School District.

- Complete knowledge of all food service and mail truck routes.

- Must possess a valid Pennsylvania state motor vehicle operator's license.

- Clean driving record required.
