ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Warren Tech is the premier Career and Technical Education (CTE) center for Jefferson County Public Schools. An educational and technological leader, Warren Tech integrates academics in career and technical education, preparing students for both college and career. Warren Tech students are engaged and committed to their programs, which is evidenced by a 93% attendance rate, 96% graduation rate, and a 97% program completion rate. Virtually all programs offer academic credit in 11th or 12th grade math, science, and English, which counts toward their graduation. AP coursework is also offered by some programs. Another hallmark of Warren Tech's success is the college credit awarded to our students each year. Last year, our students earned nearly 13,000 Red Rocks Community College credits. A large number of students attend colleges and universities after finishing Warren Tech, and some students have even earned an Associate's degree in a Warren Tech program before they finish high school. Warren Tech students also earn industry certifications through their coursework and participate in client work, internships, and job shadows with industry partners. Digital Teacher Librarian
Jefferson County Public Schools - Teaching Position
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must hold a current Teacher Librarian endorsement on a valid Colorado license and preferably have a CTE credential.

SUMMARY: Create a program that is flexible, adaptive, and interactive relative to CTE and academic course content. Lead the integration of technology and information literacy standards with students and staff. Support implementation of district-adopted curriculum through instruction, technology integration, alignment of resources and assessments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Establish and maintain professional, clear, and timely two-way communication with staff, students and community.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date, engaging, and useful library webpage that meets the needs of the school and community.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities and apply what is learned. Participate in departmental, curriculum and planning committees.
- Initiate/develop opportunities and serve as a resource for professional learning.
- Demonstrate understanding and coordination of library purchasing: literature, software, hardware, digital resources and multi-media.
- Provide a Five-Year Strategic Plan for the Library updated and reviewed by administration annually.
- Collaborate with administration, instructional coaches, and instructors to provide timely staff professional development that is aligned with district/school goals and differentiated for the learner. Collaborate to accomplish team, school-wide, and district-wide goals.
- Support the administration of all building, district and state assessments where applicable, such as staff and student surveys, Make Your Voice Heard Survey, etc.
- Balance the instructional, information and technology literacy, and administrative roles to ensure that students and staff use and create ideas and information effectively.
- Create an environment that is safe and inviting. Establish the library as the active center of school where students seek opportunities to learn, create, and collaborate. Instill a love of technology and research and create lifelong learners. Encourage use of library resources and services. Be accessible, approachable and willing to help students and staff as a resource for research and technological support.
- Teach, promote and be passionate about information literacy, technology literacy, and the integration of educational tools to enhance student achievement. Use data to guide instruction. Explicitly communicate criteria for student learning and behavior expectations.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure internet safety and digital citizenship skills are infused into all appropriate core curriculums.
- Work with administration to help carry out school mission and vision.
- Collaborate with staff to select materials that support efforts in literacy instruction and literacy acquisition.
- Active involvement in, and support of student leadership organizations, activities and competitions, such as NTHS, Skills USA, HOSA, etc.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT:
- Model flexibility and problem solving skills.
- Actively seek current research and resources to improve knowledge base and enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Be an educational resource and collaborate with faculty to design and implement appropriate instruction for students in all content areas.
- Demonstrate competence in designing and implementing collaborative units that enhance student achievement through the integration of educational technology.
- Demonstrate ability to teach and/or co-teach providing differentiation, interventions and extensions to ensure the success of all students.
- Consistently display knowledge and usage of internet resources (such as Web 2.0 tools and databases) and remain current with emerging technology trends.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Current CDE licensure with a Teacher Librarian endorsement. Current CTE credential and/or completion of required course work for CTE certification within first year.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years teaching/DTL experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide robust modeling and teaching of collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills needed to help students thrive in today's world.

Enhance student achievement through leading, teaching and promoting information literacy and digital literacy instruction.

Demonstrate a clear understanding of Jeffco Curriculum (CCAP and ISTE Standards).

Co-plan and co-teach with teachers to ensure ISTE Standards are implemented and digital governance is practiced.

Actively collaborates to accomplish team, school, and district goals.

Align instructional practices with content knowledge in the planning process to meet student needs.

Access and use current research and professional resources to increase and apply knowledge in order to teach timely and accurate content.

Consistently display knowledge and usage of digital resources, including databases through Jeffco Public Library, and remain current with emerging technology trends.

Include strategies to promote higher-level thinking for students to interact with the rigorous and challenging content in a meaningful way that elicits thoughtful responses and actions from students.

Consistently demonstrate varied research-based teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students.

Provide frequent and varied digital opportunities for demonstration of student learning.

Establish and maintains professional communication which is clear, responsible, and respectful.

Ensure the library is safe, inviting and is the learning "hub" of the school.

Provide a library environment and physical space which supports both the learning and personal needs of its patrons.

Collaborate with staff on lesson design implementation while integrating educational technology.

Collaborate with staff to build an up-to-date library collection that support literacy instruction and acquisition as well as meets the students' curricular and personal interests.

Partner with administration, instructional coach and school leadership committee to provide timely staff professional development that is aligned with district/school goals and is differentiated for the participants' learning needs.

Exhibit the ability to teach and/or co-teach providing differentiation, interventions and extensions to ensure the success of all students.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EQUIPMENT: Ability to lead and help others make sense of change and adjust to change.

Develop, lead and support face-to-face, online, and blended professional development. Demonstrate active participation in local, state, national library, educational technology, and academic organizations. Demonstrate success with collaborating with adult and student learners. Strong digital learning skills and is able to build capacity in all learners. Demonstrate success in co-planning and co- teaching to promote student achievement. Strong leadership skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS: Valid Colorado Teaching License with a School Librarian or Teacher Librarian endorsement preferred and must complete the Jeffco DTL Induction within 2 years. If the successful candidate does not have a School Librarian or Teacher Librarian endorsement they will be required to complete the Jeffco DTL certification within 2 years.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience. Previous school librarian experience preferred. Experience integrating technology into the classroom. Experience as a mentor teacher or instructional coach a plus.
