ABOUT THE DISTRICT

Jeffco Public Schools, Colorado's largest K-12 school district, with 85,000 students and approximately 14,000 employees, has provided educational excellence for more than 60 years. Nearly 10 percent of all Colorado K-12 students attend a Jeffco school and our employees benefit from partnerships with experienced, dynamic school leaders throughout our district. Our Jeffco Generations vision document and strategic plan map out with focus and clarity what we expect our schools to accomplish with our graduates. Come join us!

ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Brady High School is an Alternative Education Campus as designated by the Colorado Department of Education. This means that more than 95% of our students are designated as highly at-risk by the State of Colorado. Some of these risk factors include: expulsion, homelessness, pregnancy, child abuse or neglect, foster care, a parent or guardian in prison or on parole or probation, loss of a parent or sibling, documented history of a mental or behavior health issue, significant trauma, and students who have dropped out of school.

In any one year, we serve approximately 500 students in grades 10-12. Our mission is to reduce the dropout rate by finding the dropouts, non-attenders and expelled students and getting them a diploma and preparing them for work.

Brady uses an interdisciplinary, problem/project-based learning model; teachers work in teams of four to five, bringing English, math, science, and social studies to life through various methods and projects. Our teachers are committed to our school and its mission and continually strive towards excellence. They understand the motivation of an alternative school student and have the skills to embrace their motivations and encourage student success. They incorporate team planning and cross curricular communication as an integral piece of their instruction model with a focus on flexibility and adaptability. Our teachers draw upon numerous teaching methods to create student-centered instruction focused on individual student needs and goals.
