Summary: Directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities of students in grades K-8 by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
AS A Science Master K-8, YOU WILL..
  • Develops and evaluates educational program to ensure conformance to State and school board standards.
  • Develops and coordinates educational programs through meetings with staff, review of teachers' activities, and issuance of directives.
  • Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources to meet State standards
  • Manage teaching staff through applying the TN TEAM evaluation process.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the school's Academic Excellence Framework
  • Active participation in all school leadership team meetings.
  • Actively engage with teachers to implement best practices for student achievement and growth.
  • Implement and design professional development opportunities in content areas.
  • Support and partner with teachers in implementation of school wide initiatives
  • Partner with Academic Administrators to ensure consistency in communication
  • Data analyzation to measure student growth and achievement
  • Other duties may be assigned

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent experience
  • Education with minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • TN State educator license or equivalent

Certificates and Licenses: State specific teaching license
Other Required Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to pass required background check
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a virtual environment
  • Experience working with the proposed age group
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
  • Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
  • Familiar with Blackboard Collaborative or other online platforms
