The Fayetteville Public School District is taking applications for the position of Associate Superintendent for Administrative Services.

This position is responsible for assisting the Superintendent in the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services for all students.  This position will serve as a member of the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet and will oversee the departments of human resources and student services.  A District Administrator license issued by the Arkansas Department of Education is required.  

Annual salary for the position starts at $130,000.  Final pay will be determined by education level and years of experience.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

To assist the Superintendent substantially and effectively in the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services for all students. This position serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Coordinates with department of teaching and learning to effect horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional programs.
  2. Assists in the determination of types of programs needed by the schools and makes appropriate recommendations.
  3. Plays a significant leadership role in fostering professional growth and building staff morale throughout the district.
  4. Assume the duties of superintendent on any occasion when the superintendent is required to be absent from the district.
  5. Maintains connection with social, professional, civic, volunteer, and other community agencies and groups having an interest in the schools.
  6. Interprets the programs, philosophy, and policies of the district to staff, students and the community at large.
  7. Develop new and propose revisions to existing district policies.
  8. Lead the committee to review and recommend to the board, all student expulsions.
  9. Communicates to the Superintendent the requirements and needs of the district as perceived by staff members.
  10. Assists in the development and coordination of budgets that pertain to administrative services and other departments under his/her supervision.
  11. Prepares state reports and claims as required.
  12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Doctoral degree earned or within 1 year of completing Doctorate. Ten years related experience and/or training, and 5 years of Administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
