Position Summary
The Manager of Data and Accountability reports to the Director of Curriculum and Professional Learning.  The manager is responsible for providing a coherent set of resources for collection, storage and use of data across the school community.  The manager also organizes and promulgates state and other formal assessments.
Outcomes and Responsibilities
Outcome 1 : The school has appropriate resources and support for collecting and storing data in the service of its mission.
  • Manage Infinite Campus Student Information System
    1. Serve as school liaison to Infinite Campus and manage updates
    2. Create policies and plan and organize implementation
    3. Train staff members and other stakeholders as needed
    4. Fix bugs
    5. Monitor inputs
    6. Generally, manage ongoing use of Infinite Campus in school community, including evaluating its use and strategic planning for continued rollout
Outcome 2 : The school has systems, routines and tools in place to support student achievement goals.
  • Develop and execute systems for preparation for state tests
    1. Partner in the evolution of the test prep plan
    2. Provide resources needed to support the test prep plan
    3. Provide analysis of state test data for the following audiences: leadership; teachers; parents; board members; fund development team; authorizer
  • Create and execute systems to analyze student achievement and other data
    1. Create reports to monitor progress
    2. Run data visualizations and prepare for data days
    3. Run ongoing analytics to provide support for instruction
Outcome 3 : State and formal assessments are administered and scored according to appropriate regulations and the school community is prepared for success on these assessments.
  • Create a plan and calendar to marshal all required resources to execute formal assessments.
  • Register for, pick up and ensure delivery of tests from NYC Department of Education or NYS Education Department
    1. Maintain test documents according to state regulations
    2. Prepare test packages for teachers
    3. Coordinate proctoring
    4. Ensure proper test modifications for students with disabilities, including scheduling separate locations and proctors
    5. Coordinate school scoring responsibilities
    6. Serve as point person for L2RPT, data verification and state test administration
    7. Administer formal assessments as needed, including to new students as they enter school after September to determine placement
  • Assessment Preparation
    1. Understand and communicate expectations for the changing nature of the state tests, including transitions to Computer Based Testing (CBT) and possibly  PARCC
    2. Collaborate with Leadership Team to provide information to parents and teachers about standardized tests
    3. Assist with aligning classroom assessments with state test predictors
    4. Manage the ongoing development of internal assessments to match the state test
 
Timeframe and Compensation
  • The Manager of Data and Accountability is an exempt employee working on-site each day school is in session from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 8:15 am to 5:00 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus additional hours as needed seasonally and for special events. Work hours on non-vacation days when the school is not in session are negotiable, with flexible hours and work from home available depending on school needs.  In addition to 12 sick/personal days, the Manager of Data and Accountability has 20 days of vacation available for approved use.
  • Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
